The Nuts & Bolts
You will learn how to fuel your body efficiently & correctly by tracking Macros (grams of Fats, Carbs and Proteins). We will focus on feeding our bodies with the right macronutrient amounts to fuel our days and our workouts. We will not calorie count because we want to actually make sure we are eating ‘enough’ not cutting back ‘enough’. A simple calorie goal can help you lose weight, but will not necessarily help you lose fat, nor does it necessarily contribute to better overall health.
Tracking Macros allows us to create a lifestyle and attitude towards food that is sustainable and easy to eat healthy and eat what we want instead of continually cutting items out of our diet. We use a “If It Fits Your Macros” approach to nutrition where we eat more variety and enjoy discretionary treats...for me it’s Micro Brews!
I will guide you on how and why we incorporate Intermittent Fasting into the FWTFL. Intermittent Fasting is WAY easier than it sounds. It is not starving ourselves, it is merely an eating schedule or eating window of 16:8. We fast through the night (16 hours) and eat all of our Macros in an 8 hour window. It’s kind of amazing!!
Intermittent fasting (IF) will help your body utilize fat as its main source of energy which means we not only lose weight but we lose inches! IF allows changes our bodies at a cellular level to help regulate hormones and to maintain lean muscle mass and speed up our metabolism.
I will teach you the importance of Carb Cycling. How many diets have you tried that tell you to cut carbs entirely?! I know I have done these and I don’t like them nor do I find them sustainable. With the FTWTL 8 week program I will teach you how to strategically use carbs to fuel your body. We will cycle through a couple low carb days and then go to regular carb days to ensure our bodies effectively burn fat!
These strategies are paired daily with specific workouts (based on low carb day, regular macro day ec) to train our bodies how to burn fat instead of sugars. I will offer you workouts that range from beginner to at home to gym/experienced workouts. The FWTFL will teach you how train smarter and spend less time slaving away to cardio!
Through this 8 weeks of learning how to guide your nutrition in the “If It Fits Your Macros”, Intermittent Fasting and Carb Cycling with whole foods will undoubtedly give you lean & strong results!
